This is really beautiful, Gavin. I very much prefer this one because the separation of values is so much clearer. The brilliant silvery water trumps the marginal moon for me by a good bit.
I couldn't possibly comment on film differences from a tiny jpg like this but I enjoyed viewing both shots. Personally I preferred the lighting in the first one, was it Charlie Waite who said you don't photograph the landscape but the light on the landscape?
Gavin, I too like the TMax better, but not necessarily because of the shadows, mainly because of the sky. The moon and the emptier sky just suits the composition better. But they're both humdingers! Wonderful photography!
