Archie

Say hello to Archie, a gorgeous black greyhound with white flecks, who strolled into our lives out of the blue a couple of months ago. Following a bit of detective work, we found out he was a racer who was retired in February, and the family he initially went to - how can I put this - lost interest. The extraordinary thing is, we'd been talking about getting a greyhound for ages, so in many ways we feel like he found us. He now spends his days lying on a pile of duvets next to my desk, and on the rare occasions he's on his feet he puts up with being my photographic muse...

I'm glad that you can enrich his life and he, yours. A good trade off, I think.

Beautiful shot-great dog. We've taken in many wonderful dogs from like people.
Boggles ones mind.

Glad you found each other Ailsa. Not enough happy-ending dog stories these days.
And a very nice photo to boot!!

Here in Italy, with the summer approaching, there will be way too many dogs victim of families "losing interest" in them, and dumping them on the freeways (!).

It's good to hear that some of them manage to find someone who loves them back.
