The bridges and other structures along the Blue Ridge Parkway were built using local materials and craftsmen. Many of them emphasize form as well as function, including this double arch underpass that I am privileged to travel regularly.
Great shot Dan, I know this scene well. Lots of great stuff on the parkway. I was hoping to get a shot of the full moon the other night, over the Rockfish Valley, but the weather didn't cooperate. Give a shout if you get over to Charlottesville.
Richard: Thanks for the compliment. I am learning how rich the Parkway and surrounding area is. I am especially fond of the Parkway as it gets closer to Floyd: lots of old buildings and other potential. I'd love to get together with you guys. Dan
