Wow, they allow you to bring LF gear to work? You must have a great employer. And, as you have seen for yourself, the G-Claron is well suited for other than graphic applications.
He-he, I'm not exactly the employee, I'm a department leader, to be precise And I keep most of my LF gear in my lab - just to save space at home So it's easier to shoot here in all ways - and here's no shortage with good models
G-Claron is a very sharp and crisp lens, and it is indeed suitable for some applications - but its inherent high contrast apparently ruins the air perspective. But in some cases this effect can be very desirable
He-he, nudes are not a problem, too - "Anya, please, get in this autoclave!"
The lighting in this picture looks like an old-style "glass pavillion" light - a monotonous one, giving a very wide tonal range. I really like it for some subjects
Zhenya, since you are the department leader, I would advise you to wash that rag hanging on the wall next to the cabinet, it doesn't look like it's according to ISO norms ;-)
Zhenya,
Well done and very interesting, I like it! The smudgie towell adds texture
Hot or cold light in the soft box? Knowing your work, I am guessing hot! Regardless,
it is a dandy image.
Dear friends,
it's so pleasant to hear that you liked my humble picture In fact, it's the very first time when I've shot anybody with repro lens There are doubts about my small towel - in fact, it's quite clean, though not ISO compatible It's my personal hand towel, just to take off the excess of 70% ethanol I'm washing my hands with after some work with viruses After all , without the towel the corner would have been looking really empty and unbalanced, right? I had to use the 600 WS strobe in a large softbox, because I didn't want to make Anya suffer from long and tiresome exposure - just a gentleman's approach, the strobe light didn't spoil anything
