Anthony

I'm looking for some help to improve this print, please.

This is a photo of a friend's son which I took with a FED 5V and a J-12 using APX-100 and Rodinal 1+50. This is a scan of a wet-print. I am happy with the 'technical' aspects of the print, I think that it has good tonal range. I'm very pleased with the composition.

The problem is that it lacks 'punch'. I would appreciate any constructive criticism which might help me to improve the print.

Cheers,
Kent

Thanks Dave,
Actually the first print was shifted left (although what he's pointing at is about 10m to the left of the scene). The difficulty I encountered was that in the bottom left of the frame, there is some very visible softening and distortion from the J-12. It did, however, have more impact; maybe I should go back to that regardless.

Cheers,

Or perhaps just go closer to square and lose some of the "empty" space on the right.
