Thank you. I thought it really showed some promise, given that we have never discussed photography, composition, etc. He did this all on his own.

Encourage him! Any 10 yr.old that has an interest in something besides video games is rare. He certainly has a creative gene. With practice and guidance he has the potential to develop into a competent photographer.
