Angel Of The North

Finally got the courage to upload some of my work. This is my take on probably one of the most photographed landmarks in the UK. Taken during a very brief gap in the rain. This is a crop of the original square format negative.

I apologise for the poor/dusty scan, this is the first time I've tried my hand at scanning my work. Unsurprisingly I suppose the scan lacks some of the depth of the print.

It may be one of the most photographed landmarks in the UK but deservedly so IMO. Your rendition of the 'Gateshead flasher' suits the subject admirably. The orangey tone of the print echos the rust on the statue. I even like the little pylon to the right. Well done.

Once visiting this angel and took a lot of pictures but none from this very nice angle of the angel; thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your kind comments! This was from my only trip to Newcastle, I'd been looking forward to seeing the angel. I was surprised at how quickly it jumps out at you as you're travelling along the main road.

There'd been talk of commissioning a similarly iconic landmark for us here in the east, but I think it would take something really quite incredible to match the impact of the Angel of the North...
