I like the harsh side lighting and the crisp shadows. Well done. Where are the white mountains? (excuse my ignorance)

White Mountain are immediately west of the Sierra Nevada Range and Bishop, CA.

Nice composition, Bristlecone is a difficult subject to shoot in my own experience. Combining the gnarled trunks with the background mountain I know is not easy to do, and it is often difficult to get the vantage point you want to use, the atmosphere is unusual to work in due to the high elevation. Nice work.

BTW the Bristlecone pine forest is in the White Mountains east of Bishop, and is accessed from highway 168, climbing out of Big Pine through Westgard pass. Once off of 168, the road climbs considerably and becomes a gravel road past the museum and ranger station. This shot looks like possibly the patricarch grove area at nearly 11,000 feet elevation. I suggest anyone going there have at least modest road clearance and tires that are not real tender. The last couple of miles cross some pretty sharp rocks.
