Ancient Greco-Roman theatre, city became the Roman capital of Asia Minor
An amazing setting I saw Mikis Theodorakis' Orchestra play this theatre late 2007, unfortunately he was unwell and couldn't join them. Greek music in an ancient Greek seting and a very receptive audience. The original inhabitants would have been equally as appreciative.
Thanks for the post and for another reason: You sign your picture saying:"... Ancient Greek theater". The other side (...) claims that these belong to their (!!!) civilization.New age, new history!!!

Edited: "The other side" (...)= Eastern cost of the Aegean sea.
The contrary is true, most of the local people aren't particularly interested in what's left of the Ancient Greek/Roman remains as they don't see them as being a part of their culture. A consequence is that Government finance for Archaeology is sadly very low on the agenda.
But there are still some quasi "Greek" villages, and of course many people of Greek descent who have been absorbed into the local communities.
