Ambassador Bridge - Detroit, 2014

Always a good thing psychologically for me to get the first good photograph of the year, so I went out and made this on New Year's Day. Hopefully a sign of a productive year to come.

There ain't nothing but a heap of trouble awaiting you on the other side of that bridge!

Very nice, Bill. I'm the same way, should be printing my New Years negatives tomorrow night. Hope yours was a good one. =)

Troubled water under that one, I bet I like the large negative space that surrounds and frames the bridge and poles. Happy New Year, Bill....it IS a good start!

My first year as a music student at U of Windsor, I lived in a corner room on the sixth floor of Mac Hall, which is only a hundred feet or so from the bridge, at the same level as the traffic lanes. For a young fellow from the Northern Ontario forests, it felt as if the trucks were practically driving through my room all night, every night. I didn't sleep much. I'm no fan of the current Ambassador Bridge Company and its megalomaniac owner, but I've taken my share of photos of this beautiful landmark myself... from the Canadian side. Nice one, Bill!
