Altar, Ste. Chapelle, Paris

The altar at Ste. Chapelle, showing off the recently restored stained glass.

Shot on Kodak Portra 800. I'm amazed at how fine-grained it is.

That's cool. What an amazing place!

It was built in the 1200s to house the relics of Christ that the French kings had collected, which are now housed at Notre Dame. Chief among them are an alleged piece of the True Cross, and the Crown of Thorns. Of course, if you collected up all the pieces of the True Cross floating around out there in churches around Europe, Jesus would have been 12 feet tall with an 11 foot wingspan. I may have posted before a photo of the Iglesia de la Vera Cruz in Segovia, Spain, a Templar church that also allegedly had a piece of the True Cross (and a rumored hiding place for the Holy Grail).
