Along the Merced

I hiked through the snow down the south side of the Merced south of the swinging bride to get this shot. This is printed on the newer Azo which is very soft paper. Some say grade 1. There is a nice range of tones in this and I need to work for a better print. Let me know what you think.

Gustavo, yes. I exposed 22 sheets of 8x10. I'm happy with several of them and need to work for some fine prints. I wanted to see what the negs had to offer. A lot of work ahead. Torn between printing and the 11x14 construction.

Nice one Jim. It's a challenge to get the negs right for the soft Azo but you got a lot of nice tones in this one.
Put the camera work off till next winter. Ahh you don't know what winter is in Ventura so work on the camera in those 5 days the weather is crappy then

Jan, I've been real bad. I've been meaning to do a series of shots along the ocean. I have something in mind and the sun is at the right angle to the water most of the day. Too many projects going on. My productive time is in the fall, winter and spring but the camera is coming along so well that I'm going to give up some sleep to get everything done. I'll post some shots of the camera in the building forum later. Thanks.

Miles

Miles, actually we got very lucky. A storm went through about 4 days before I went. The roads were open and it was only about 26 degrees at night. The Camp 4 campground was deserted and it got to the low 50's during the day. The falls had a fair amount of water flowing due to some snow melt. The days were sunny with very little wind. Broke out the 8x20 and I have yet to print the negs yet but I will try to post some prints when I get them done.
