Excellent, I like the open ground leading back towards the low hanging clouds. The low elevation of those clouds is amazing to see from the side angle view here.
Stunning. My only comment would be I may lighten the farm house slightly because that where you put one of the main compositional points. Actually the more I look at it, your choice was to keep it mysterious because you led your highlights right up to it. It sort of sits on this dark oasis, and threatened menacingly by those clouds. Its a very nice picture.
Thank you, folks. blansky, I do intend to bring out the main elements of the frame when I print it. The negative scan is pretty much a straight scan with very few adjustments made other than getting higlights, shadows, and mid-tones adjusted to look like a straight print. And a couple of dust spots. Your suggestions echo my own thoughts. The lighter parts of the frame are from clouds moving very rapidly, blocking or letting through direct sunlight to the ground in various places. I like how that looks in the frame when composing, but it also meant I had to make my mind up very quickly once the light hit the right area. Was a lot of fun.
I should add I looked at it again and one thing that is interesting is the texture of the land vs the smooth fluffyness of the sky is also an added component to the overall shot.
