In...Sweden!?
Given the gloomy sky I thought it was England...
The contrast between the foreground and sky is very stark, with maybe too much sky imposing the image, but this is also weighted against the perceived desire to centralise the figures within an equally isolated space. On first landing, it's very striking. I'd crop quite a bit out of the sides and top as the huge swathe of sky doesn't really have enough drama to warrant keeping so much there. I've found the 6x6 format to be beautiful to work with when coming across simple visual arrangements like this, and it's great for sending up the never put anything in the middle of the frame "rule". Sock it to 'em!
This is not a print, just a film scan, so it hasn't been manipulated very much. In a print that sky will have much more drama. I vision it to be closely connected to the subject on the foreground, as the starts, sun, and moon, were all important in the construction. The fact that it's cloudy is pretty interesting, I think.
Once again, I appreciate the feedback. My vision of the final print is pretty much set, but it's very interesting to read how everybody else might have interpreted the subject matter, even though it will not really influence the final outcome. I have more pictures from this site, about three rolls worth, so there is more to come. Problem right now is time since I'm pulling about 70-80 hour weeks with work and school combined. It's really hard to find time for photography, unfortunately.
