Matt, the best thing I have found for pinhole calculations is a piece of software called Pinhole Designer which you can download from http://www.pinhole.cz/en/pinholedesigner/ There are other online calculators too which you should be able to find easily in Google. I'm not sure this is the sharpest pinhole image I've seen, the hole was made in an aluminium baking tray with a needle and wet & dry paper rather than a laser cut hole. The weirdest thing of all is that some images are nice and sharp whereas others seem much softer for no obvious reason. I think the image is apparently sharper on a monitor rather than in the flesh but it is good enough to enlarge to 12x16.
