I like the photo well enough. I'm a fan of airplane photo's. However I am pretty sure that the plane in the photo is a propeller driven aircraft. Not a jet.
This plane is a strange mixup. The general shape and rectangle windows reminds me of a C-47, the military version of the DC-3 built during WWII. As for the the tail, it doesn't correspond to the DC or C model that I know of. But it may be a late model variation.
Back in 1945 Qantas Empire Airways (pre-war Australia's overseas airline) began their Australia - Papua New Guinea air service with the VH-AFA, a former US Army Air Force C-47 aircraft converted to DC-3 specifications.
oops, I think your right, it is a prop driven aircraft.
Thanks for catching that and my apologises.
It was a challenging outing, so I was thankful for the out-of-doors opportunity.
Great shot! I can't believe all the water near the plane. The last time I shot images of that plane it was bone dry all around. Was it in January of this year that you took this photo?
