I picked a light green specimen from a fenceline and used a light green filter (+ 1/2 stop) to increase contrast and separate its values from the rest. N+ development helped bringing out the texture.
Ooh... verrry fine... Light green filter... Yes.. will have to try that and see if I get better results. I've tried shooting Agave, when they start to bloom.. but never used a green filter. Now will have to buy one. ;-)
What a gorgeous shot! I almost gasped when it popped up on the screen, then as I noticed the incredible sharpness, I became messmerized by the infinite shades of gray. This truly is beautifully done.
I understand everyone with large format wants to print full negative. But the Top 1/3 of the negative I think distracts from what again I think is and outstanding, beautiful print. the lower two thirds has such luminescence and clarity. I can't say it enough outstanding.
I agree about the crop, but aside from that, I'm again amazed at the clarity, brilliance and detail you've gotten with your 8X10 used as skillfully as you have.
