I notice that you have used 3 different films in what appears to be "not to different" light conditions. Was this to test the films' differences? This one seems to have the best shadow detail. Is that down to HP5+ or were the shadows less dark anyway?
The D3200 seems to have brought out the granite mottling very well. Given the differences in speed, the print from the Acros doesn't look as fine grained in comparison as I would have thought.
They are all very subtly lithed and much less pink than the previous set you took at Baddesley Clinton. I really like the effect here.
Thanks, Wolfgang. I am more pleased with this set than the last batch I did. I am getting to grips with using the different combinations of ABCD to get different effects. I am aiming to get something between this and the more pink tones I get with Fotospeed LD20. So I guess more A than B, maybe more dilute overall?
I was simply testing the camera - it's new and it is a while since I did any MF. I wanted to get ballpark figures for developing 4 films in Aculux (Tri-X, HP5, Acros and delta 3200 so I did 1 roll of each). The shots were all taken in the same place within about an hour under similar bright conditions (sunny with occasional cloudy spells). Apart from the Acros the negs were all on the flat side needing grade 4 on average to print and I probably could squeeze an extra third of a stop of speed out of the Tri-X and HP5.
I was very surprised with the Delta 3200. It was pretty grainless at 8x10 and not at all bad at 11x14. I don't think I will be using much Acros. Just sticking to HP5 and Delta 3200 for the time being.
The Moersch SE5 lith is much more subtle and controllable than the Fotospeed. I am still trying to get to grips with all the possibilities.
