Abandoned Factory

Testing out shooting FP4+at 64 to see if the "detail" in the shadows is better. I can't tell if I particularly like it. But I'm happy with the image, however something intriguing happened mid-exposure... it was something like an 8 minute exposure, as it was almost dark, about 2 minutes in, the spot light on the waterfall suddenly came on, I panicked, re-light metered, and to compensate for the sudden center light, but wanting a bit more exposure in the dark areas, I opened the aperture to wide open and shortened the exposure time by a LOT

Gorgeous. You nailed it! Love the composition. My eye goes straight to the waterfall, meanders up the building and back down to the lake. Would like to see it without the edges cropped. And printed.

Good on you, Stone! You're really starting to get it. Thank you for allowing us to watch your growth as a photographer. Way to go.

Thanks guys, it's funny because I feel like I'm not that happy with the exposure, I happen to like a little more contrast in scenes, since I was pulling the image a stop, I'm not that happy with it, the spotlight was a fortunate accident which gives the image some "pop" but it seems that though others here enjoy these lower contrast scenes, I don't. Not sure what non-photographers prefer as a majority... anyway I was also criticized by email for not using enough movements to correct for the buildings odd shape, but I can assure you, I could hardly even see the building just to focus on it and I wasn't about to start messing with the perspective, however I did raise the front standard a bit, that's about it. As far as cropping, I just cropped out the edge markings, not that I cropped the image significantly, however, yes it's scanned not printed. Thanks again!

Interesting with how this all came together. If I did any cropping on this it would be from the left. That big pipe is the most distracting element of the frame, I think. Or at least tone it down in printing. Nice frame, Stone.
