This image has a small story: Late in the night I woke up by a loud 'bang'. I was sure someone had used a firecracker leftover from New Year's Eve because it sounded exactly like this. Then after a short time a second one, then the next and so on. Still quite asleep at about midnight I was not worried and as I heard a police car I thought 'someone might have called them because of the disturbance'. However I was now awake enough that I got out of bed and took a look down my balcony. There I noticed that they were just finishing the fire extinction on a burning car (it obviously started burning while parking and they put it on the street for fire extinction - you can see the grime on the parking lane at the left side of the image). I realized that the 'bangs' must have been the tyres bursting! After a while I thought that it was an interesting scene and I took my Profilux to measure the exposure, which was doable with my Rollei 35 S (f2.8, 1/15sec at 1600 ASA). So I took this photo feeling like a small Weegee :-)
