A river runs through it

That brings back memories. I recognised it immediately from the thumbnail and thought is that Monschau? Yep, and you have captured almost an identical image I have somewhere in my slide boxes. I was on an extended holiday in Germany in March - April - May in 1985, really beautiful border village. We had one member of our party who was a bit of an authority on the skirmishes there during 39-45 conflict. Some very sobering events, in such a beautiful place. We had an extended holiday in Germany last year and were heading to Monschau via Cologne in mid to late June when a killer storm hit the area, unfortunately 6 people died in Cologne it was that severe. We didn't have enough time to continue so we missed it, next time. A cloudy bright day was the best for taking pictures there I found, looks like it was like that for your time there, or at least with this picture. Mick.
