A convenient test shot/location (front door) for the new HolgaWide Pinhole. I won this camera when a print of mine was selected for a "plastic camera" show. Cheap fun to be sure.
The Holga's pinhole is f/135, so metering with either of my spot meters is a breeze, as they both display up to f/128. First I usually meter the scene with a D80, to confirm the histogram, then dial in the chosen exposure on my Pentax digital spot meter.
Acros is the perfect film for this kind of work with longer exposures. The reciprocity effects are so minimal. There's NO correction required for exposures up to 120 seconds, and only +1/2 stop needed for anything from 120 - 1000 seconds (16 min.)
Thanks Kate. Guilty pleasure,...I've actually enjoyed getting out and about in the car over the past couple of weeks. Many years ago, I learned to drive in Ontario's hard winters, and find it quite nice to putter, and spin around in my little Tercel. Getting stuck is entirely another matter, though. :~)
BTW, I'm going to make a point of visiting the Xchanges Gallery. It sounds like a wonderfully creative nexus point in the community. (I haven't been over to Victoria in some time) I see that you're the current coordinator. How long have you been involved?
Here in Vancouver, I'm a member of Exposure Gallery, which is also a non-profit/member-run space. http://www.exposuregallery.ca/
We have a show opening this Friday Jan. 9th, in case you or anyone else is in town. I've got four pieces in this show.
