The title comes from the line in a poem by Wendell Berry, "there are no unsacred places. There are only sacred places and desecrated places."
When I first saw the contact print of this negative I thought it would not survive the refining process. The more I worked with it, the more it spoke to me. Now I need to know if it speaks to others as well. Thanks in advance for all comments.
Thomas: It was a chapel with a broken out window in the door, and that is now used as a storage building. Some of the material being stored is barely visible in the print, but did not scan well. The idea of the door to a church being padlocked also seems wrong to me.
