I like this photo. It tells a story about the event and how people live and enjoy life in Friesland.
It has great depth because of the three layers of interest. The three layers I see are the children playing on the beach, the spectators on the hill, and the sailing vessels on the horizon. The grass, wildflowers, and plants makes an excellent foundation border and anchors the scene. Maybe it was good luck to just have the normal lens?
The Portra film has a good look. I enjoy your Portra images the most, although all your photos of life in Friesland are great to see, it seems to be a good film for the North Sea area, and the Ijsselmeer in this case. It's always great to see your pictures of Friesland. Thanks for showing them. With my family having come from there, I enjoy every one of them. In this photo, I can almost feel the fresh breeze coming off the North Sea.
@jstout Thank you for the kind comment, jstout - I really appreciate it ! Nice to hear you have family coming from Friesland.
Yes, now I'm sure it was kind of a 'lucky coincidence' that I only got the 75mm lens.
You refuse to disappoint. But, at first, I thought that this might be Sylt, in northern Germany.
There is a certain delicacy which imparts a wholesomeness and integrity to the image. Again, you do not need the sun in order to say that this is a work 'well done'.
I demand that you send me a Lufthansa ticket and hotel accommodations in order for me to visit this venue. - David Lyga
