A new try with a hopfully better scan; planing to print. Sorvagsfjordur towards Tindholmur, Vagar, Faroe Islands 1986(!). A wind from the south, meeting this famous Tindholmur in the middle of the sea, ending up as a continuous growing cloud at the top: almost like a chimney. (For a more spectacular image of the same place, see cover Black+White Photography August 2009)
Bertil,
This is the kind of image that I think would really benefit from printing and toning in thiocarbamide or sulfide. It would give you a real quality in the light that is almost needed for these clouds to really pop. It's a lovely image with really nice potential for the printing stage.
But look who's talking; I need to get my rear end into the darkroom too.
Would love to go to the Faeroe Islands some day.

Steve, I'm now a proud member of this excellent society! Thanks for this link. Thomas, you may be right. I like the scenery, but it's not an optimal negative so I will have to use some special tricks in order to get a decent print. Have some experience with thiocarbamide toning, but never used sulfide toner. Will have to see if I can find some formula for this. Thank you for encouraging words!

Hi, I keep coming back to this image. The foreground and rocks are really gorgeous. The sky and cloud could probably look better. Looking forward to your print!
