I shot a wedding this past weekend and wanted to do some things from a little different point of view. This is the best man and his wife.

Mike,

I cannot say enough about this picture. It's amazing. It's an absolute departure from all the stand there and smile photos that come out of weddings (or portraiture for that matter). I love it that the wife's back is to us. I love it that the guys head is chopped off. Something fresh and new and a great stimulus for ideas!

Composition aside, look at the detail in the bestman's tie, vest, and lapel of his jacket. Very nice!

Mike I love the concept here and as Gary has said the exposure is really nailed with all the detail here. Can I ask what soup was use?

I am very gracious for the kind remarks! As far as soup goes this is the Portra B&W that is machined processed and printed on color paper. Not my first choice but doing a wedding and processing all 400 frames in my darkroom...no thanks. I do have to say in the right hands this is a wonderful film for this kind of assignment.

Mike oops sorry my brains not all here tonight but I do love the concept and the tonal range is beautiful. Looks like another film I'm going to have to try now that my beloved Ilford isn't looking permanent. I'd love to see some more.

Looks just like a Helmut Newton image only less voyeuristic. Nice shot.
