From a camping trip on the Kern River 2005?
I haven't printed this one yet. What'ya think?

from my various astronomy undergrad courses... it seems like it was roughly 15min given the length of the star trails and their apparent distance from the north star. Guesstimation on my part.

enjoy the image, the void of blackness balances it well.
 
Scooter, right on! I had been drinking all day but i remember guessing at 15 minutes and a little painting with my keychain light on the foreground rock. Thanks guys.

I've had to look at this over and over again before I could bring myself to comment. It's a stunning photograph. I find that the sense of scale is awesome, and I really enjoy letting my eyes wonder from the rock and the tree down the stream, up towards the sky and down to the rock again. It feels very natural to look at it that way. Nice flow. Harmony. Great shot!
