Monthly shooting assignment: 2 people doing something.
This is from the first roll i put through my 67II a few couple years ago. My dad and brother-in-law cutting moulding.
Hey !! well done Wild Bill ... this is a great example of what Marc described in the latest MSA and a super photo to boot! It's a real keeper for the family album too.
Nicely done wildbill. I like the composition where all eyes are on what your dad is doing, which is on the lower left third of the photo and not centered (which isn't always a bad thing). The windows are in just the right place, and even the saw horse legs in the background (an inverted 'V') at the bottom/middle are kind of directing your eye to the work-spot. Not only that, but the tool in the background has an angle that directs us to where your dad's hands are. The brim of the hat, the piece of trim your bro-in-law is holding,....just about everything in this photograph is pointing to one place! Pretty amazing actually. DOF is nice, too.
Nice shot. I like the feel of it. But I can't help cropping. Just to the right of your brother-in-law's ear, cropping to there gives you a more dynamic photo.
Congratulations on winning the (bi-)Monthly Shooting Assignment.
This is a very nice photo indeed. Very inspiring to see how such a "simple" "every-day" (well, probably not *every* day) activity can still result in a very special photo. I like it a lot. I'm letting this inspire me to do more "every-day" shooting. Thanks.
