50 Narragansett Road

While driving through the back roads of Rhode Island I passed this road and had to stop, it's not superb but I really wanted to shoot that day, so I'm glad I got something :)

Also got to try Acros out in Rodinal instead of DD-X ... I think I like it better, it doesn't seem overly grainy as a comparison, it's almost smoother... hmmm

Is this print for sale?
  1. Yes
I like this the better of the 2. The way the sign both welcomes and blocks entry lends more mystery to the road winding out of sight.

I like how the way is leading into the image and how crisp the road sign is standing out against the smooth background.

Well done, could be a trailer photo for a horror flick.

Actually akfotog, I was thinking the same thing. You know, a group of college kids out for the weekend "lets go down this road, what could be the harm in that?"

if this road is where i think it is, its a good 20-30 minute drivefrom where mary and mercy brown were buried, they were
claims they were vampires ... back in the 1800s ..

Thanks guys! yea I like this one best too! It's near ... 145 Dean Knauss Drive, Narragansett, RI ... I had traveled there kind of on a hunch, my buddy had a bunch of pelican cases for free from a "secret dump site" and he gave me one, and of course that address and the name "Porta Phone" were on ALL the cases, so I was like ... well maybe the company IS the dump site... it wasn't so I didn't get any free pelican cases ... but I did get this shot about a mile up the road from that... I agree it seems like a horror flick... This was tough as I was hand held at 1/60th with the 180mm lens... it's hard enough hand holding the Mamiya RZ67 without the 180mm lens held really close standing in the middle of the road dodging cars and getting the right frame, with a DOF of probably 2 feet... lol I'm glad you guys like it.
