Really good work. All three of these are merely rather mundane subjects that you have elevated with your expertise to a level or art and mystery. All are rather mysterious and draw us in to try to figure out what is going on. It takes a lot of talent to be able to take the simplest thing and elevate it to such a level and these three pictures do that.
 
Are these tatami mats? I slept on one once, and it was very comfortable. And this is a great series of photos. I especially like the middle one.
 
thank you both for your kind comments, but i feel i can take little credit for elevating what was already a special place. additionally, the lens, a 21mm biogon for the g2, has a lovely way of vignetting when shot at f22, as employed here. finally, i've been experimenting with pushing neopan and really liking the results. this and most of my other recent posts were shot at iso6400. @mfohl...yes, these are double-layered futon resting on tatami mats, and they were magnificently comfortable.
