2nd Gateway

This is made from the mole of the former 2nd Gateway (a lock to the inner ports) in Wilhelmshaven. The lock, as well as the larger two other of the four locks, was destroyed after WW II and replaced by a dyke. Only the moles remained. On the mole-head of the 2nd Gateway (being at that time the first and only lock of the four) the foundation of Wilhelmshaven was announced in 1869.
