Hi Thomas, I didn't take any notes when I took these photos, so I'm not sure I can truly answer your question. These lotus flowers are in a garden near the National Palace Museum near my house. I went out early in the morning before sunrise (the flowers bloom and close-up depending on the amount of light). I went out on different days, so some days it was raining, some days cloudy and other times it was sunny. I will need to go back and look at the other negatives on the same roll to see if I can determine the overall lighting conditions. I have noticed that the petals have a lot of texture, and I wanted to capture those texture. The flower (subject) stands out more if the light falls on the flower but not on the lotus leaves in the background. I didn't use any filter this year.
Anyway, this is my first time photographing just one subject repeatedly over a few months so that I can develop a series. I guess there is much room for improvement - a notebook would really help.
The images are scans from 8x10 prints made on Ilford warmtone fiber-based paper. The negatives are Fuji Acros 100 shot on a Hasselblad. Some shots were taken early in the day so there may have been some "long" exposures which can be tricky given that we are outdoors and there are bees and gentle breeze.
