After not being behind the camera for the past few months it just felt good to shoot some plates. So we decided to play with some costuming. I didn't consider the effect of the white face powder, it proved to be a challenge with wet plate.
Lovely tones, especially the costume works out very nice in wet plate, but I do think like you suggest, that the face might have a bit more "form", but as you say, a white powdered face is probably a challenge for this process.
Thank you, you are all to kind. As I said, I hadn't been behind the ground glass in 6 months due to health issues, so this was the best elixir I could have possibly gotten. The first plates of the session were horrendous and the rust truly showed. Kerik, I agree. I tried shooting this at 6 sec. but I was loosing detail in the shadows and the white powdered face was getting that gray cast. So I would guess 7 sec. would have been perfect. But with that said, I'm just pleased to be back in my element. Robert
