I was cleaning out a junk drawer and came upon a few rolls of old film, which I assumed had been exposed, since the leaders were spooled in. So I took them in to be processed, knowing they had to be at least ten years old. Now, I don't remember who this is, but I remember where I was when I took this. So it's 1979, I think. This film waited almost twenty-eight years to be processed.

Good old Tri-X!

Very nice shot, it's the spirit of the age! It's those kinds of shot that make me understand why some people really miss the old tri-x. The new version does have plenty of practical advances, but the old one has a very distinctive gestalt, that can be quite pleasing. It has a slight "Pictorialist" effect--the soft contours, the nice grain.

This image certainly reminds me of what was happening in the '70s for sure...I suddenly feel the need to dust off the ole case, tighten up the nylon strings , and .... :smile: .

I normally just enjoy the gallery silently, but I had to respond to this image as I began my photography in the early 70's and an image like this just brings you right back in time - great find!

A very pleasant surprise. Let's see - your summer of '79 would have been winter down here and around the time I first met my wife now of 26 years. I remember bashing out a few tunes for her on my Ecko 12 string. Your subject is playing a Dm chord so something a little melancholy which seems to be reflected in the face. My guess is Both Sides Now! Thanks for sharing...
