1955 Fall Leaf Burning

I love this series of old negs you're scanning Stephen. Great play of light and shadow in this one -- the tree almost looks like a cutout.

I live in Wilmette! Our street still looks much like this, pavers and all. Unfortunately all the old Elm trees are gone....

Do you have a certain criteria for buying these? theme ? photographer? vintage? subject ?

The images do share a common bond and yes I do have a criteria for these images. They are all of America pre 1970. I have acquired about 100 negatives so far and the collection is growing. Once the collection is complete I will explain it in more depth...For now these are just some samples of whats to be seen in the collection. Im glad that so far you are all enjoying my purchase choices.

So you are planning to print these...right?
I would love to see an actual print , any idea what you will print on?

are there any actual prints by the photographers that took these? are you planning to sell prints of these?

Just wondering

I m planing to collect them then print them on Ilford warmtone fiber. The works will not be for sale. they are to be preserved. I am trying to save these works and make sure they dont disappear.

That takes me back...and wonderful light.

Wouldn't they be even better preserved if more copies were made and sold?
