Taken at Twin Springs Ranch on the Railroad Valley leg of the 2008 re-enactment of the Greatest Auto Race. In 1908 George Schuster drove a 1907 Thomas Flyer model 35 across the US, Asia, and Europe to Paris to win.
The fellow farthest from the camera is Jeff Mahl, George Schuster's great grandson. Below him is Joe Fallini, owner of Twin Springs Ranch where the '07 Flyer became crippled with a broken gear train in quick sand. The driver of this 1930 Chevy Speedster is Ray Fowler. The other fellow is un-identified for now.
Done with the Kodak 2D 8X10 camera and a 24" Petzval lens. The Petzval has no aperture so I had to balance as best I could between the gents at the available f12. I focused on Joe and swung the back to get as much as possible. f12 and be there.
