My entry for Alt Exchange 6.
I had never done Cyanotype but was very inspired by one I received from Anke in Round 5, so I thought I'd give it a try. I like the process a lot.
That is strangely beautiful. I can't figure out the power of simplicity the way some of you cats can. Seems like a planet, and god isn't playing dice, it's billiards. I'm especially glad the cyan is not overly strong, because that soft touch holds the mystery.
Thank you guys very muchfor your nice comments.
Barry, the lighting is quite easy. The ball is taped to a piece of glass which is standing vertically. The ball is lit from the left with a soft box. Behind the glass (about 6 feet) is a large soft box pointing straight at the camera. It's about 1 stop brighter than the other light, therefore completely overexposed, hence no shadow. The hardest part is getting heavy objects to stick to the glass!
