I have been mesmerized by Don Normark's 1949 Los Angeles' Chavez Ravine book. He was a starving student and dreamed of a Rollei but could only afford a lowly Wollensak Ciro-Flex. The pictures are a visual feast. So I couldn't resist getting an old Ciro-Flex camera on Ebay. Obviously, I'm no Don Normark, but it's a fun little camera and will probably live out the rest of it's life in the glovebox of the '39.
Thanks for the comments. Very analog car The lady in Goldfield that I bought it from looked high and low for the original hood panels and finally concluded they must have been stolen from her yard. She lives right on hwy 95. So I had to buy some on Ebay and I just installed them yesterday. Subsequent pics will have the hood panels. And in B/W they'll match.
I learned the craft of photography on a Ciro-Flex in the late '60s. Americans could make a more than decent camera, shutter and lens- hard to believe today. Which model do you have?

There were models? LOL. I'm sure mine is the most ordinary one with the 3 element lens. I've learned about 3 times that if you set the tripod down with any sort of a clunk, the back pops right open. I may have to set romance aside and go back to the Autocord. I have been more than pleased with the pictures though!
