Korona 8x10 Pictorial View Camera (Winston) and C.P Goerz 19 inch F/11
Exposure
Aperture was most likely F/64 with an approximate 4.5 second exposure.
Film & Developer
8x10 Fuji HR-U developed in my standard caffenol developer at an unavoidable low temperature.
Lens Filter
No filter was used but in retrospect I would have employed a 3-stop GND in order to bring up the foreground values much more in camera.
Hybrid Materials & Processing
Scanned via EPSON V700 (Veronica). Note the Newton Rings....
Digital Post Processing Details
Processed in Adobe Photoshop with a relatively extensive local contrast manipulation. This was processed some time ago but I believe my original intention was to hold the majority of the sky in a simulated #5 contrast filter range with the immediate foreground being slightly softer, in the #3.5-#4 range. Mid-ground was largely left with its global contrast intact. A slight selenium tone was added in PS as well. Oddly enough, the original negative of this photograph was quite underdeveloped and the post-processing was essentially what it took to bring the scene back to at least "close" to the visual conditions at the time of capture...which were extraordinary. For those interested, you can actually witness this very photo being captured, along with the obscenely beautiful light, in the "TRUE Photography Off Grid: Shooting, Developing, Scanning Film Outside Socorro, New Mexico" beginning at minute marker 17:29 at on my YouTube channel that is linked in my signature. I'm unsure of the rules to link to the video here within the post.
