The January show at VCP presents Waypoints by Jim Schlessinger
Schlessingers photographs explore segues between conventionally perceived reality and abstraction. The work speaks to the idea that one can experience abstraction and appreciate metaphor in day-to-day life. This stimulates fresh consideration of the ways in which we live. Since Jims last solo show at VCP in 2010, he has added many new works to this series. They are fun, poignant, and provocative. A new series has developed out of the blue literally. These stripped down evocations are charged with energy and vitality. They elucidate how we can only see what we are ready to see.
