I've got a nice system worked up using 4x5 FP4, Rodinal and a slosher tray. My N is 18 minutes at 1:100 with agitation for the first minute and 5 seconds of agitation every minute for a total of 18 minutes.

I just bought 4x5 HP5 to gain some much needed speed and wonder if anyone is using this setup and if so do you have any suggestions for starting points - ISO and times at 1:100? I'll do my own testing but it's always helpful to have some insight into where to start.

Thanks in advance. Shawn

Shawn,

Ilford suggests 11 minutes 68F at 1:50. After looking at Ilford's times for FP4+ and HP5+ at 1:25 and 1:50, then at your time for FP4+, it looks like something in the 13.5 minute range might be a good starting point, although I wouldn't be surprised if it went a bit longer in practice.

I did try HP5+ in R09 + sodium ascorbate with a touch of borax a few years ago in 35mm. It looked really good, but I slightly preferred PC-TEA and I didn't work out a final time for that combo.
