I have both the SMC Takumar and the K-series version
This SMC is a transition model when they switched from Super to SMC and it is a very good lens in my eyes.
THe K Series is OK, but has some mold inside... eek

i bought that SMC version cheap in Japan in 1973 -- it was not very sharp -- many Many years later I was GIVEN the earlier Super Takumar version -- much better so I sold the SMC one -- I have had several Real DOGS of Pentax lenses over the years as they RUSHED them out too quickly to keep up with demand in the 1970's
