There is probably an optimum enlargement where this is fine and so better to alter the size up/down in PShop.

PP, Thanks! Maybe something due to size of enlargement & output resolution causing the scan speed to vary...

Yes -- from the Epson 1650 flatbed scanner -- sometimes they appear, other times not -- I don;t know why !
Nice seeing these images! I also wonder what the texture lines are (from the scanner?).
