Ferrania Solaris 800 : 09/2006 dated cut film that was in my XA2 and loaded rest into my 1975 Asahi Pentax Spotmatic F . Scanned with huge grain-- although in Fridge since bought FRESH it has not 'matured' well !
I use a Adobe Lightroom. There's an option for noise reduction. I go easy for the most part but ride the color slider pretty aggressively. I DSLR scan so I don't have as many problems as flatbed scanning with color noise, although it is present.
WoW ! wish I knew how to do that -- I am having trouble with scans either on my Epson 1650 OR teh Epson 2489 flatbed scanners -- I HAVE cleaned glass underneath.
Noise reduction and destruction of dye clouds ("grain") would take away from this beautiful image. It would inkjet print beautifully on canvas or canvas-textured inkjet paper.
This just makes me want to try out my expired high speed films.
Too bad I have my new Ektachrome and the weather over here in the states isn't very good...
