Canon FD Group

My latest addition to my Canon FD family. <br /> IMG_8468.jpg

What a beauty. I would say that mine is about 95% of the condition of yours.

I bought mine about 5(?) years ago from an APUG member in Canada and promptly sent it off for a check over and CLA.

Technician commented that it only needed a light service - new seals, lubrication and he applied something to all of the electrical contacts to ensure conductivity and inhibit corrosion. Exposure and shutter speeds were noted as being spot on except for 1/1000 shutter speed. This was observed to be a bit inconsistent but within specs. It would take a major tear down to investigate / fix. I'm not that concerned about that.

This camera meters correctly with 1.5V silver cells. Mine are held in place with springs which are cunningly wrapped around the cell. I can send a photo if you wish.

If this camera works as well as it looks, it will probably become your favourite FD body. Unless you spend quite a lot of money on an F1-N I don't think that there is a better metal 'prosumer' FD body that has been made. (Could get into trouble there with the F1 / F1n owners)
(WoW !! Looks straight out of the new box !)

I know. That is why I paid a bit extra to get it.
Hehe. I have three. But the cleanest of mine is no match for this beaut. Congrats dances.
