hope you all don't mind me interrupting for an announcement --

as a few of you know (because you're in it), there's a fine exhibit up this month in corvallis featuring 50+ prints from members of the five oldest independent photography groups in the state -- the interim group, the inner light society, the portland photographers' forum, the eugene photozone and the willamette valley photoarts guild ...... tho not purely an analog show, it does have lots of fine silver and traditional color prints (and one lonely platinum) ..... the show honors the role that photo guilds have played throughout history in the advancement of photography as a fine art on this 170th anniversary of the announcements by talbott and daguerre of their inventions ....... juried by phil harris of the oregon college of arts and crafts ..... the show is up thru may 23, so if you're in the corvallis area this month, drop by the arts center to have a look ..... (reception this thursday may 8 from 5:30-8)

I must be in Oregon a couple more times this month. If the projects go well, there might be time for a side trip down the Williamette Valley to see the exhibit.

Of course, in the past when they have said; "Oh, yes, everything is here and ready." it has turned out that a few more parts needed to be found, or the parts they had no one had tried to put together, and they did not fit each other. The odds do say that at some point, someone must be a winner. Who knows? Perhaps one of these times.

Thanks for Posting this. It should be a great show! Wow, 50+ prints us a good turn out. I would strongly suggest if you can see the show do so.
