The Olympus OM cult

New Memmber---Q about selling

#1
New member here. Actually I no longer shoot film or use my OM gear, which is why I came here to ask a question. This is not a classified!

Adorama, a big NYC store offers online quoting for buying used gear. I gave them the list of all my gear and they said "no interest at this time". I have no idea what it's worth, assuming not too much these days.

OM1 (prism rot--for parts?), OM1n (dead meter), OM-G, 50/1.4, 50/1.8. 28/3.5, 35-70/3.5-4.5 (small one), 100/2.8, Sigma 120-300/5.6-6.3, Vivitar 2x extender (7 element, macro), Varimagni, groundglass screen (1-3?), lens hoods and cases, OM everready case plus lots of filters (mostly Vivitar), Vivitar 283 flash with bracket, bounce adapter and filters

I'm in the USA, what would be a fair price to post on Craigslist? Are there any other dealers I should contact?

I'm loath to just put it all in the dumpster

Gosh don't dump it. If nothing else offer it here for shipping.

The 50/1.4 is worth $50-$100 the 100/2.8 about the same or a bit more. The 50/1.8 about $25. The 35-70 maybe $50

Even an Om1 without a meter is worth $15. The OMG $25 or so.

It's not a lot of money but there are people who want this stuff. The trash bin is a horrible place to put it.

eBay is better than Craig's list. Craigslist people don't know what they're looking at. eBay people are looking for specific items and will watch and wait for them.

I have had some negative experiences as a seller on eBay so I won't do it again.

Thx for the reply.

Yeah don't dump it!!! r u sure you will never want it again???

I have an old Zuiko 50/1.8 full of fungus... so I painted the front silver and left it out for more mould to grow on it - and it is an awesome lens for weddings!! old gear is so much fun. buy yourself an OM-D and adapter and throw it onto that body for some fun.
