The Olympus OM cult

OM 4 spot averaging test shots...

#1
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, (and pardon the inclusion of a digital comparison digital in this post) but I've found that the Oly C-5060/7070 WZ has the same multi-spot function that my 4T has, and I have been using them together to get a handle on learning the film exposures better. I don't know if they're absolutely the same, because the lenses and sensitivity are different, but it at least gets me some semblance of similarity as test shots, so I don't waste too much film... Just saying.

I would never trust the meter on a d*&%#^l "camera". The software on every one I've seen will "compensate" based on what it "thinks" the image should look like.

It is not clear why you feel the need to "get a handle on learning film exposures". Every Oly I've ever had (and that's a lot) has had dead on exposure. Just be aware of the light and subject brightness and you'll rarely go wrong.
