Montreal group visibility / Visibilité du groupe Montréal

#1
I think we should ask that the Montréal group be recognized as an APUG Regional Focus Groups instead of a Regional group (social group). The group will be listed on the front page of APUG.
Actually APUG Regional Focus Groups
Canada
Sub-Forums:
Calgary, Alberta -Large Format Users Group , Vancouver, Toronto .... Montréal should be there too!

A lot of APUG members from Montréal simply don't know the existence of the group.
We should also profit of this section to make exchange between us, let us know interesting photography exibitions, conference, and maybe organize some meetings, demonstrations, etc

Hello, I agree with Ginette. This should be more than a social group. Rather than sitting around lamenting the disappearance of this or that chemical or paper, as a group, we can approach Lozeau or Photo-Service and ask that what we need as a group is this or that product, ie... Rodinal... etc. We should also use the group to make exchanges of equipement that we no longer use or need; my basement is starting to look like one of Sol's camera shows. I need to get rid of this stuff. Surely it would be useful to somebody.

I fully support Ginette's idea. I also think we could do more to promote analog photography locally. Of course we could all benefit from sharing our work and ideas. We just need someone to do the initial organizing work, etc....

I sent a PM about in May to Michel Hardy-Vallée who start the group and who have the status of "Membership Council" but I see in his profile that he didn't log since April 12. I will email him.

In the meantime if you know some APUG members from Montréal and all around, tell them to join the group. The group have only 25 members, we are certaintly a lot more on APUG.

What do you think about some activities that we can meet to know us better.
Julien Bourbon (more about him) who just join the group (when I said him that this group exist!) will do a collodion demonstration at the Rendez-vous du Richelieu, Saturday June 20 at 13h

It could be a nice opportunity to see the process and to know us in real instead of the web!
What do the group think about this kind of meeting?

Hi, I personally join the idea of sharing ideas and work and benefits from being in a group when buying. I'm in!

Hi All, I'm sorry I missed this event, of everyone getting together, I would have attended. Personally I've been involved in photography for the past 30 years working for Ilford, Rolleiflex, Hasselbald, and Drytac. Most of my life I've worked in the supply end of this business, however my real dream was to be a photographer, and make a good living doing that. Circumstances being what they are, that never materialized. Non the less I have amassed a large group of professional equipment (all analog) to follow my dream. It is my hopes to set up a professional b&w photo lab in the near future. Any feedback from this group would be appreciated.

Thanks

Marc
