Leaf Shutters Large Format Users Australia

Enlarger for you east coasters:

Naughty Steve. Tempting me like that. I'm going to start using Photo Access here in Canberra soon. I still haven't processed the shots I took back in March. Unfortunately they won't let me use Pyrocat or developers like it because they are too dangerous. Only allowed to use Ilford or Kodak developers.
On another topic. I will be coming down to Geelong (on the bike) on the 12th August. I'll send you an email later on and see if we can catch up.
cheers
Mike

Mike,
you know there is a full 8 x 10 darkroom just up the road, you can also stain your heart out.

Thanks Pat. I'm going to have to take you up on that offer, but I'm going to have to wait until I get some panniers and a top box for the bike. I gave my car to my partner's daughter after her car was written off by a drunk. she bought a hail damaged car from the auctions and she couldn't get comprehensive insurance as the insurers had written it off. Teh mongrel who hit her car kept going and so her third party insurer wouldn't cover it. so I gave her mine and now I only have the bike. I go for my Provisional licence in a few days so I should be able to do 100 (instead of having to stick to 80) very soon. I think the tax return should cover the stuff I need and some chemicals and paper and a bottle of something for the hire of your darkroom.
cheers

Sounds good Mike, we can go for a spin down the coast together... In the process of moving house this week, it's SO much harder than I remember (ie, pre-Alexander). I'm about to duck into the darkroom now to print for the exchange before I pull it down and (try to successfully) relocate it.

How've you gone (or have you even?) with the 8x10 on the guzzi? I've had a number of people 'warn' (ie, 'scare') me about vibrations & lenses etc...

I haven't yet Steve, but a friend of mine suggested that I wrap the lens in sorbothane. I used to put it under the feet of my turntable when playing records and it worked really well.
Unfortunately I won't have time to take any shots. I've got too many people to catch up with and I'm really down for my brother's birthday. Staying one night at his place and then going down to my other brother's place at Darlington for another and then coming home. I've got to stop in at both Gordon campuses, Sacred Heart college and quite a few other places, and see you as well. Busy busy busy.
cheers
Mike

Geeze, sounds flat out! I hate those kind of trips, when you get home feeling like you need a holiday.

Mike,
Chemicals shouldn't be a problem. Just bring paper. Do you print resin or fibre? I have a Ilford RCP 2150 I hope to commission in the next week or three. If so, we could run the resins through it. up 20" dry to dry in 73 seconds. Very handy for QA and consistent prints. Send me a PM when ready and I'll give you the details.

Wow Pat, I wouldn't announce that RCP too loudly, you might find more folks than just Mike on your doorstep!
